Care Package Received
Just as we were preparing to send a second care package to Maddux (since the first one never arrived) we received an email from our adoption agency this morning that his first care package had been received at the orphanage - Yeay!
It was delivered according to USPS on 29-Dec, so not sure where it has been, but glad it has finally arrived and Maddux is able to see our pictures and hopefully enjoy some of the toys we sent as well.
We also managed to get our flights booked yesterday, now just need to book a hotel in Shanghai for the first night and the train from Shanghai to Hangzhou. Oh, and pack!

Travel Dates Confirmed
We received our Consulate Appointment date confirmation of March 14th!!!!
We will be leaving for China on Friday, February 25th and returning home on Friday, March 18th.
We should get Maddux on either Monday 2/28 or Tuesday 3/1.....more details to come.

We got it - Travel Approval!
We got a call about 10 minutes ago from our adoption agency, we have travel approval from China! Final approval needed!
If we get our first choice Consulate Appointment dates, we will be leaving the US to get Maddux on February 25th!
We requested Consulate dates of March 14, 15 or 16th (a ways out, but better for both our work if we have a bit more notice to give). If we cannot get those dates, or second choice is March 7, 8, 9th, which means we would leave for China on February 18th.
Let the countdown to travel begin!

What's Wrong With These Pictures???
Nothing, until you remember we live in southern, coastal North Carolina. One mile from sunny sand and beaches. Today we have 5 inches of snow (7 inches officially according to the news), all covered with a nice light layer of sleet.
Did I mention that I don't think our county doesn't even own a snowplow...and we left all our snow shovels in Connecticut!Enjoy!!!

New Pictures
We received new pictures over the holidays of Maddux - these are recent, taken within the last 2 weeks.
We should receive our Article 5 (Maddux's visa approval) on Thursday, and then hopefully only a few week wait until travel approval, so we can schedule travel dates!

Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Maddux's room is almost done (except for the scotch tape holding up the pictures). We ordered white frames but looks like we got the wrong size. Have to get mats to go inside or figure something else out after Christmas. Just need a white shelf to go above the dresser and we should be ready.
